Laptop DC Power Port Repairs

In a laptop one of the most common parts to become faulty is the power port. This is due to how much stress and strain the average laptop and power adapter goes through on a daily basis.

When a laptop Power Port is faulty it will genrally be for one of a few reasons from poor solder on the DC jack to the port completely breaking away from the motherboard.

A laptop port repair is a very delicate and specialist repair, it requires one of our qualified technicians to;

• Completely take-apart your laptop, of every part and screw.
• Remove the motherboard onto a seperate anti-static workstation
• Remove the solder holding the DC Jack in place, then remove the DC Jack.
• Clean the area with a specialist cleaning solution, removing any dirt, dust or solder left behind which can cause problems.
• Connect the exact replacement port to the motherboard (every port is different for each manufacturer and individual model)
• Solder on the new port, making sure its a clean and perfect finish.
• Completely re-build the laptop including, every wire, part and screw that was removed.
• Test the DC Port and all laptop devices such as wireless, USB, audio, etc. Making sure every part is working correctly.
