At the Computer Centre we look to establish our staff with the best and leading qualifications currently available, from CompTIA A+ to Microsoft Qualifications. We have listed below just a few examples of what our staff are progressing through at the moment;

Leeds City College (Formally: Leeds College of Technology) – IT Practitioners Apprenticeship With this Apprenticeship training takes place at work and at college and gives individuals the key skills to enter the work place at nationally recognised standards. Doing an apprenticeship guarantees:

- Excellent training at one of the best vocational colleges
- A wage and supportive employer
- Real experience and understanding of the industry you are working in

Level 2 Apprenticeship
With this programme, students work towards an NVQ Level 2 and in some areas have the chance to do a technical certificate such as City and Guilds. Once completed, students can either work in their chosen field, or they can move onto an Advanced Apprenticeship.

Advanced Apprenticeship
With this programme, students work towards gaining an NVQ Level 3 and complete technical certificates, like BTEC Diplomas and National Certificates.

The CompTIA A+ is the industry standard for computer support technicians. The international, vendor-neutral certification proves competence in areas such as installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. CompTIA A+ certified technicians also have excellent customer service and communication skills to work with clients.

Microsoft MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) Qualification The Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) credential validates that an individual has the comprehensive set of skills necessary to perform a particular job role, such as database administrator or enterprise messaging administrator. MCITP certifications build on the technical proficiency measured in the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certifications. Therefore, you will earn one or more MCTS certifications on your way to earning an MCITP credential.

Microsoft MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) Qualifications The Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certifications provide the foundation for Microsoft Certification. These certifications are designed to validate your skills on the features and functionality of key technologies. You can show your depth of knowledge in one specific technology, earn multiple MCTS certifications to show breadth across different products, or build on the MCTS to earn a Professional Series credential.

Team Leading Qualification A Team Leading qualification helps you to develop your leadership skills and your abilities in directing and co-ordinating people enabling your team to reach their full potential, whilst allowing you to take on more responsibility and progress your own career.
